Women's Transition Housing Fund Program Overview

Overview

The Province created the Women’s Transition Housing Fund (WTHF) in 2018 to fund the operations of Women’s Transition Housing and Supports Program (WTHSP) sites across BC.

In Spring 2018, the Province committed $734 million in WTHF funding to pay for the development and operations of 1,500 new units of WTHSP housing sites over 10 years.

In April 2023, as part of its new Homes for People plan, the Province committed to funding an additional 1,500 new units of WTHSP housing.

What is happening?

A Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) was issued in April and closed on September 13, 2024. Non-profit providers interested in this new round of funding were encouraged to apply.

Operators qualified through this process will be invited to respond to an Invitational Request for Proposals (IRFP) as WTHSP housing sites are identified. A proposal to operate an identified WTHSP housing site will be required.
