Core Competencies

Competencies are general descriptions of people's aptitudes and abilities, and are recognized by particular behaviours or actions. At BC Housing, we engaged staff and executive in an extensive exercise to determine the competencies we need to perform in our roles in a way that best supports the goals of the organization.

The competency framework provides the foundation for individuals to assess, grow and perform at their peak potential. It provides the base for our recruitment processes, learning and growth initiatives, performance management, and succession planning. Everyone at BC Housing needs to model these behaviours at some level to be successful in their jobs.
