Housing Design Guidelines and Construction Standards
provide standards and technical guidelines for the
design, construction, and long term operations of new construction,
conversions, and renovation projects in the social housing
sector.
The objective for this document is to ensure that
all project teams:

Provide safe and secure housing that responds to needs of the residents and fosters a sense of community

Design projects that are cost effective, spatially efficient, easy to maintain
-
Pursue sustainable design and balanced construction practices
-
Construct durable buildings that meet BC Housing’s minimum life expectancy
-
Optimize project outcomes through an integrated design approach
