Energy Efficiency Retrofit Program
In 2011, BC Housing,
BC Non-Profit Association (BCNPHA)
and
BC Hydro
formed a partnership to increase the energy efficiency of
social housing developments and return some of the resulting
savings to participating non-profit housing providers.
The resulting program builds on the existing BC
Hydro
Power
Smart Partner Express (PSPX) incentive program
and provides funds to enable housing providers to
complete small-scale energy saving retrofits of items like light
fixtures.
The Energy Efficiency Retrofit program is
intended to help non-profit housing providers make a
variety of energy upgrades to enhance tenant comfort and
safety, realize ongoing energy savings, and take action to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions. Together, incentives are intended to
encourage housing providers to undertake small scale energy
retrofit projects and retain a portion of the energy savings,
without additional future costs or administration for those
involved.
If you are interested in applying for this
program, please contact
BCNPHA
or
BC Housing. To be eligible for the program, projects should contain a housing component and be operated under an eligible program operating agreement with BC Housing. Please refer to the Program Funding Guide for further eligibility details.
