Privacy Tool Kit

The Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) came into effect in January 2004 and sets out the ground rules for how not-for-profit organizations may collect, use or disclose information about their tenants and employees. The law also gives individuals the right to access their own personal information. As well, PIPA requires organizations to protect and secure personal information against unauthorized use or disclosure.
