Change Agent

Guiding and supporting others in taking actions towards sustainability

Our intent is to take a leadership role in sustainability as a means of creating change within the social housing sector and residential construction industry.

Priorities
  • Get “our own house in order” by minimizing negative impacts of internal operations within branches and business areas.
  • Empower employees to enable them to make good sustainability choices in the workplace, the community and at home.
  • Improve people’s lives through building environmental awareness and action among tenants.
  • Develop best practices and resources to be shared with housing partners, providers and other stakeholder groups such as Licensed Residential Builders and homeowners.
  • Engage and influence BC Housing’s supply chain (suppliers, contractors, manufacturers and distributors) to incorporate sustainability into their businesses practices through BC Housing’s Sustainable Procurement Program. The intent of cluster B is to take a leadership role in sustainability as a means of creating change within the social housing sector and residential construction industry.
