Developing Sustainable Housing

The livegreen Housing Sustainability Plan: 2012/13 provides a roadmap to help fight climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and our environmental footprint. The plan promotes sustainability within the public and private housing sectors, and sets out three aspiring strategies:

BC Housing became carbon neutral in large part through renovations and energy retrofits. The result has been a 25 per cent reduction greenhouse gas emissions compared to the 2005 baseline. Read our 2011 Carbon Neutral Action Report.

BC Housing is largest developer of LEED buildings in British Columbia with 40 buildings completed and under construction. Learn more:
