Renovating Housing

Through BC Housing, the provincial government is committed to maintaining and protecting the existing social housing stock to ensure that it continues to be available for individuals and families who need it. Check out the programs below to find out more:   

  • Home Adaptations for Independence - Adapting homes to allows seniors and people with disabilities or diminished abilities to continue to live in the comfort of their home.
  • SRO Renewal initiative - Preserving 13 SROs on the Downtown Eastside through investment in necessary renovations that will expand the life of these buildings for more than 900 residents.
  • Housing Renovation Partnership - Renovating and retrofitting social housing in the greatest need of repair.
  • Seniors' Supportive Housing - Converting and upgrading the existing social housing to enhance accessibility and improve safety systems to better support low-income seniors.
